Imagine yourself in the middle of a lake, struggling to stay afloat. It seems as if you are all alone; no one else is around. You consider just giving up. But then you hear a voice. The voice is quiet at first, but slowly becomes louder. You look up, and in the distance you see your dear friend. She is paddling a rowboat, which contains an extra life preserver. You cry out to her for help, expecting her to throw you the life preserver. But she doesn't, and the water is pulling you under. You cry and scream and yell because it would be so easy for her to just throw you the life preserver. But she doesn't; she jumps into the lake, and suddenly she is right beside you. She says she's going to teach you how to swim. It is not easy, but every time you want to give up, she whispers words of encouragement. And soon you are doing it; you are swimming on your own. And you realize that swimming on your own is much better than being rescued.

"I worked with Pam in Lake County, Florida. Her penetrating presentation style and memorable training motivated me to work with her for more than a year in my capacity as the Lake County Domestic Violence Prosecutor. Over the year, I observed Pam coordinate and present powerful community presentations. She uses various multi-media methods to keep her audiences entertained and engaged in meaningful dialogue about domestic violence. She uses video, poetry, skits, and audience participation exercises. Each activity is directed at recognizing, identifying and correcting domesti violence. I especially enjoy her attention to conveying the effects of domestic violence on children." - J.J. Dahl, attorney and counselor at law
"During the two years we were both in the Fort Myers District, I discovered how skilled Pam was in dealing with domestic violence. I used her as a resource person when facing issues that were out of my experience. In some cases she even came with me when direct intervention was needed. I would have been lost without her expertise. Her presence and experience made a great difference." - The Rev. Bill Fisackerly, IV, Pastor of Estero United Methodist Church
