Women,
children, men, the wealthy, the poor, elderly persons ... people from all
walks, ages, races, cultures, classes have come to me asking for help or
just wanting to talk about the domestic violent situation they are in.
Very quickly I realized that I had a lot to learn about how to be effective
in this fight. Using my personal and professional experience,
informing it with my faith and networking with other professionals working
in domestic violence and tempering it all with the deep well of information
from victims and survivors, I offer my best efforts to stop the
violence/stop the silence. I am convinced that domestic violence is a
community issue. For this reason, DOLPHINS is about educating,
empowering, and networking both religious and secular community leaders so
that we can work together toward healing and harmony in our communities.
